Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

Evans Cycles

201 Deansgate, Manchester M3 3NW, UK – 0161 834 6732

I lost a small but important part from my Ortlieb bag, which hadn't even been purchased from Evans. Staff member Connor went out of his way to quickly find a replacement part there and then, at no charge. Fantastic service. Highly recommended.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Wanted to look at something, opened up the package and helped me have a look. Great advice and welcoming too.

Bicycle Garage

24 Denmark Rd, Manchester M15 6FG, UK – 07486 966464

Brilliant, quick service and prices are reasonable!

I work at the Uni and spotted a sign on Oxford Road for this shop, which is just 2 mins walk away on Denmark Road. I hadn't used my bike in a while so I asked for a basic service - good value and the bike rides so much better. What has really helped me the most is sorting out the saddle height for me which has meant that I feel much more comfortable and confident when riding. This is an excellent bike shop & I'll definitely return.

Harry Hall Cycles

67-69 Whitworth St W, Manchester M1 5WQ, UK – 0161 236 5699

Popped a spoke in the middle of a delivery, and brought it in expecting the worst. Despite the shop being busy, Ste had me up and running again with a new wheel, gearset and chain in under an hour, and for a very reasonable price. He even sorted my brakes out! The old girl feels like new. Highly recommended.

I am now the proud owner of a BROMPTON H3-L 2018 Folding Bike, Brompton H type. I plumped for the black model from Harry Hall's Cycles in Manchester. Harry Hall's provided an excellent personalised service, setting up the bike and explaining everything. Also they provide a first class after sale service by email or phone if you have any questions. I wanted a really good folding bike. Brompton Cycles were the best option and I was happy to buy it from Harry Hall's as they had the high handle bar model 3H-L with the 3 Sturmey Archer gears, which was the one I wanted. I like a more upright riding position and wanted to keep the gears simple. I remember one of my earliest bikes had 3 speed Sturmey Archer gears and it was the best bike I ever had. (I never could get on with Derailleur gears.) I can't wait to get it back to Ireland and try it out on the Burren Way in County Clare! Thanks again to Graham and all the other staff at Harry Hall's Cycles in Manchester.

Good communication about progress of repair and advising on cost. They took time to explain what the problem was and how it was solved. Great local bike shop

Great service, I've been there twice and both times they were really helpful, they gave me a courtesy bike for the time my bike was there waited to be fixed. For any future problem i will definitely go again, i really recommend this place, it's in a good location, service is good and quick. They also sell accessories and bikes

Cycle Republic

4-10 London Road, Picadilly, Manchester M1 3AN, UK – 0161 236 0216

I’m very impressed with cycle republic in Manchester Piccadilly. I always say the way to judge a business is by how the react when something goes wrong. Now I normally wouldn’t have complained, because the issues I experienced were both in-part my fault. The first was that I had ordered my bike before my cycle scheme vouchers were ready, and when they called to say they were going to build it and I explained that, they said I could easily re-order later and it was best to cancel this order. They didn’t say that the price I'd ordered at was a sale price and it might go back up in price. But to be fair I maybe could have guessed this was a possibility. The second was that when I did buy the bike later at a more expensive price, I couldn’t remember what size frame Id had bought from them for my previous bike (that was stolen a few weeks earlier). They were rushed, so didn’t check despite me asking them to, and so they ended up selling me a bike that turned out to be too small (smaller than the stolen bike I'd bought from them 6 weeks earlier). So when I went back I wasn’t that happy but wasn’t holding out loads of hope because on both fronts it wasn’t entirely Cycle Republics fault - I could have avoided both these things if I had been more organised. However I did decide to pop in and complain as I thought it was only fair to voice my issues constructively. Mark from Piccadilly was absolutely brilliant. Not only did he honour the original price, but he also exchanged the bike for a larger one of the correct size that they built especially within a couple of hours. They simply couldn’t have done more to put me back to my ideal situation, and in doing so, have joined a small group of businesses that I hold in very high regards. Well-done Cycle Republic!

I only have good words, undoubtedly the best place in Manchester where you can repair the bicycle at a good price, with good professionals and a customer service of 10. Arrive with a broken cable of DI2, Luke the store manager, from the first moment I explain all the repair and prices. I knew it would be a complicated job but Luke is a professional and at all times I knew what he was saying, in just 2 days my bike was repaired and completely adjusted. For me 11/10 IN service
